for Therapists

Individual Consultation / Supervision

Individual consultation/supervision is available for mental health professionals at various states of their career.   As an AHPRA approved supervisor I also provide primary and secondary supervision to those completing the Clinical Registrar program as well as for other mental health professionals seeking ongoing professional development.   I also offer structured group consultations, designed to support your evolving learning goals. Please see below for current options.

Why Consultation & Supervision

This is a collaborative process that nurtures the development of your therapeutic skills, deepens your confidence and expands your clinical knowledge – particularly when navigating complex presentations.

The particular therapeutic models that have informed my learning are,  CBT, Narrative Therapy, ACT, Schema, Internal Family Systems, Chairwork and EMDR therapy.

Individual consultation sessions can count towards hours for both EMDR Accredited Practioner and IFS Certification pathways.

This is a confidential, reflective space for you to refine your practice, grow your theoretical understanding and enhance your confidence in case formulation, treatment planning and addressing stuck points.

INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION SESSIONS

The goal of individual consultation/supervision is to support your professional growth, with tailored guidance to suit your caseload, experience level, and learning style.

Most CONSULTEES have a regular slot allocated each month for the year (excluding December).  If this is what you are looking for please fill in the contact form below.

I also offer intermittent consultation sessions perfect for therapists who prefer flexibility or wish to check in occasionally for a clinical discussion.

The key point is that during our time together, I will be sharing every aspect of the IFS model to ensure you can use it both effectively and with depth.

Course Outline – Internal Family Systems: Working with Parts in Practice

    1. Step into the world of Parts Work
Discover how the IFS parts model can deepen your therapeutic work and help clients understand their inner world.

    2. See through the lens of Parts
Build your confidence in conceptualising client experiences using a parts perspective, making complex dynamics easier to navigate.

    3. Map the inner system together
Learn how to collaboratively map your client’s parts, creating a clear picture of their inner world and relationships between parts.

    4. Ask the questions that open doors
Gain a structured process and targeted questions that lead to rich insights into the psyche’s internal dynamics.

    5. Meet the Core Self
Develop clarity about the Self in the IFS model—its qualities, healing role, and how to help it lead.

    6. Work effectively with Protectors and Exiles
Learn how to recognise and work with managers, firefighters, and exiles—balancing safety with exploration.

    7. Understand resistance without pushing against it
Explore why some Protectors hold tightly to their roles, and how to address their fears with respect and curiosity.

    8. Blend and unblend with confidence
Master the skill of moving between parts and Self, and help clients do the same.

    9. Transform stuck patterns
Use strategies to work with polarisation and direct access when Protectors are reluctant to shift.

    10. Walk through the unburdening process
Step-by-step guidance on how to help clients release personal and legacy burdens for lasting change.

    11. Use direct access effectively
Learn different ways to connect with parts directly to support unblending and create space for the Self to lead.

    12. Experience it in action
Each 2.5-hour session includes 90 minutes of experiential exercises or deep theoretical exploration, so you can both learn and practise.

    1.      Session Structure:

o   15 mins: Opening – Meet and Greet with a short meditation.

o   30 mins: Check in reflecting on meditation and questions linked to theory

    o   5 mins: Break.

o   90 mins: Experiential Exercises in Small Groups, applying theory.

    o   10 mins: Reflection, Closure.
